Did Melissa McBride Just Tease a Carol Pregnancy?!

October 09, 2017

Carol has changed a lot over her seven years on The Walking Dead, but her biggest adjustment could still be on the way. During the Walking Dead panel at New York Comic Con, Melissa McBride seemed to tease a bun in the oven for Carol this season.

While on stage for the panel, McBride was asked about Carol’s changes heading into this season, since she took a bit of a violent turn last year. She was asked if Carol was “trading in the cookies for body armor.”

“Yes,” McBride said emphatically. “Yes! Thank god! Yes! But that doesn’t mean she’s not gonna be baking something!”

That might sounds kind of innocent, but the suspicion comes from the way McBride said it. She got very mysterious when saying the words, “baking something.”

Remember, Carol had a child back in the first and second seasons of the show. Unfortuantely, her daughter was turned into a walker while they were staying at Hershel’s and the group had to put her down. Going through another pregnancy would really put Carol in a strange place.

The story would make sense though, as Carol and Ezekiel have seemed to be getting closer. Both lost the child in their life, and they could be looking to create new life together in The Kingdom.

It’s also worth noting that Carol is in uncharted territory. In the comics, the character was killed all the way back during the prison days.

“The Walking Dead” Season 8 Spoilers: Melissa Reveals Carol is Armed and “Blowing Things Up”

September 19, 2017

The Walking Dead Season 8 spoilers tease that Carol Peletier is going to be back to her old self. In fact, Melissa McBride revealed that she is armed, ready to fight, and will be blowing things up. Find out what the actress had to say about her character in the upcoming season.

TWD spoilers are ahead. Do not continue reading unless you want to know what to expect when the AMC series returns next month.

Carol Peletier has gone through quite the evolution. She is a fan-favorite character, but viewers were worried about her last season. However, the Carol everyone knows and loves will be back in The Walking Dead Season 8. Spoilers reveal that she will return to doing what she does best – blowing things up.

Melissa McBride spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what to expect from her character. Carol feels a “call to duty” in fighting Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors. There will still be a battle going on in her mind. Even though she is doing what is necessary to protect her family, that mental war will continue.

“She laid it out for Daryl [Norman Reedus] when he came to her cottage that she’s running a risk of losing herself in the fight, but it’s worth it to her. And I think we’ll see she’s going to fight the conflict in her mind, it’s going to be alive there too.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, there just won’t be physical battle scars. There will also be mental ones. Carol’s psychological turmoil is likely just one example of that.

The Reunion We’ve Been Waiting For!!

February 20, 2017

After what felt like a lifetime, but was only really just about a full year, The Walking Dead finally reunited one of our favorite pair of characters and, well, we’re having mixed feelings about it.

Of course, we’re talking about the long-awaited reconnection between Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) after the latter arrived at the Kingdom for safeguarding against the Saviors in last week’s midseason premiere. And it might have never happened if it weren’t for Richard and his plot to lure the Saviors to Carol’s cabin, sacrificing her in order to force King Ezekiel into joining the war against Negan and his crew.

Naturally, Daryl was never going to let that bit of insanity happen. But it did alert him to Carol’s whereabouts, no thanks to Morgan’s lie last week about her leaving for parts unknown. And seeing the two share a hug, for the first time since they embraced after she and Maggie escaped from Paula’s compound last season, filled us with all kinds of happiness.

It’s what happened after that we’re still not sure how to feel about. As they sat down for a meal, Carol burst into tears and asked Daryl if the Saviors came to Alexandria, if they hurt anyone. And in that moment, Daryl made the decision to keep Carol in the dark about Glenn and Abraham’s murders, telling her that Rick and the gang won.

On the one hand, it’s sweet that he’s trying to protect his friend from the savagery that everyone else is still struggling to recover from. But on the other hand, is it really fair of him to make that choice for her? We all know she’s going to find out anyway. Morgan knows what happened, after all. Something tells us she won’t be too pleased with her pal when that time comes.

What do you think about Daryl’s lie? Did he do the right thing or is he in the wrong? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.

‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Finale Has a ‘Sexy Moment’ That Made 2 Stars Screech

January 21, 2017

Whatever you think about “The Walking Dead” Season 7 up to this point, consider this: Lennie James (Morgan) said he and Melissa McBride (Carol) “screeched” over a “lovely” “sexy moment” in the finale.

Here’s that section of Lennie James’s Q&A with NME:

“I hope people aren’t disappointed by the end, but there’s one point in the finale that myself and Melissa were reading as we sat next to each other on a plane, and both of us kind of screeched when we got to this one point. It’s such a sexy moment, on all levels – it’s huge, it’s just so lovely. And both of us, when we got to the point of reading it, were like: ‘Oh my God!’ Like kids, excited by it. And to still be at that stage seven years into the show is a testament to the writers. It’s about the arrival of a character, and it’s lovely – really lovely.”

Sexy? Did he mean literally sexy? He said on all levels. Arrival of a character? Literally on that point too — like someone new shows up — or something else? Maybe we can pair this with what Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) previously teased of the finale to Entertainment Weekly:

“Wait till [Episode] 16. I promise you, there is one beat in 16, I dropped my script and started punching the air and did a little jig.”

Episode 16 is the finale, so is he talking about the same moment? Apologies for the all-caps, but … DO THEY MEAN CARYL? This isn’t about Carol and Daryl, is it? Sorry if it isn’t, but sexy moment, punching the air … maybe Daryl is finally going to get some, with Carol or otherwise. Or it could have nothing to do with that at all. But now we’re rooting for some Pookie play time. Or maybe Eugene? Does Mullet Man finally get some? Clearly stuck on “sexy” here.

For the record, James also hated the first half of Season 7, but because he was only in two episodes so he was bored and wanted to get to work and see everyone else on set. He promised “more action in the second half” as we’re about to go to war.

Here’s more of his second half tease to NME (warning — minor comic book spoilers ahead):

“On one level, it’s very obvious that we’re getting ready for war, and everyone who knows the comic books knows that we’re about to go into a couple of years of war. I don’t know how long that’s going to pan out in the television series, but it goes on for a while in the comics. So we’re about to go to war, and the second block [of eight episodes] is about meeting the protagonists and certain events that are going to decide what sides people take. And it’s not going to be a clear division of labour, let me say. There are some people who go to the dark side who are going to take you by surprise, and there are some people who are going to come over to the light – and that’s all a matter of perspective. As with this show, nothing’s going to move in a straight line. But one of the things that’s inevitable is that we’re heading to war.”

“The Walking Dead” Season 7 returns Sunday, Feb. 12 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
